Get up close with our norsu Cabin furniture by GlobeWest

As we celebrate the norsu Cabin x GlobeWest giveaway this week, we thought it was a great time to introduce you to all the delicious GlobeWest furniture selections for our Cabin.

We've taken some risks with the furniture in this property, because if there was ever a time to do so it was now! We've always adored the vast colour selections that the GlobeWest range offers, but also understand that going overboard in your own home with coloured furniture is not always an option.

The unique quirkiness of the cabin provided the perfect platform for us to play with the furniture colour more boldly, connecting to the coloured cabinetry, paint selections, tiles and drapery - and honestly, we couldn't be happier with the results!

Keep reading to see what we've selected and why...

The Dining Area

In this open plan space, the focus was about coming together over meals and making memories. We've used the furniture to zone this area into three different seating/meals areas in which guests can gather and connect.

The dining table needs absolutely no introduction. It's the dining table that both Nat and Kristy have had in their homes for years, and a norsu customer favourite - the hardwearing Livorno Round dining table in White Speckle. We know first hand how durable this table is, and the fact that it is round (great for smaller spaces), made it the perfect choice. We paired the table with the Granada Scoop Closed Weave Dining Chair in the colour Moss. The rattan material of these chairs allows for easy cleaning, and the darker colour means they're great for hiding any fingermarks - winning!

When it came to the cosy fire nook, we knew from the get-go that we wanted to place a couple of cosy occasional chairs that you could sink into by the fire while enjoying a cheese board and a glass of wine or bubbles. The Pinto Occasional Chairs in Cinnamon Speckle/Natural Ash have been a beautiful choice. Their generous size and open design allows for two people to sit on the one chair, and the moulded backrest provides so much comfort.

We've already spent several nights cosying up in them for hours by the fire chatting away and watching the kids toast marshmallows, and couldn't be happier with them!

The third meals zone in this area is the large kitchen island bench. This bench gave us the perfect opportunity to create a breakfast bar for four using the Laylah Loop barstools. These uber comfortable and surprisingly stain savvy stools have given us extra seating, and created a great space for our little ones to enjoy brekky on a Sunday morning.

The Living Room

For the living room, it was all about comfort! Selecting a comfy sofa was at the top of our list, and the moment we sat on the Hugo Marla Modular Sofa in the GlobeWest showroom, we knew this was the one. You instantly sink into this feather filled plush beauty easing into an instant state of relaxation. The natural warm honey tones in the fabric suit the cabin so well especially against the backdrop of the lime washed log walls.

The sage Oberon Buffet is a complete show stopper in here! This pop of colour provides an element of fun, while also connecting to our lush green gardens - and the additional storage inside for board games is a huge bonus!

We teamed the sofa with the gorgeous Bonnie Occasional Chair in a luxe boucle fabric. The moment you sink into this chair, you’re engulfed by a big warm hug - bliss.

And last but by no means least...the luxe Amara Round Leg Oval Coffee Table in Ocean! There's one word for this piece - WOW! It may be a touch boujee for a holiday rental, but it's surprisingly practical with the polished finish for easy cleaning. The oval shape fits this space perfectly too!

The Bedrooms

When it came to the bedrooms, it was all about the colour!

The upstairs bedroom has been painted pink, with an oversized pale blush bedhead. To pair with this, we wanted a gorgeous colour-contrasting bedside. An absolute favourite of our norsu Design team is the Artie Wave bedside table in Bone. Its playful scalloped design is sleek in design and very functional for storage. Thankfully we had room for two of these beauties. Of course we couldn't resist placing another occasional chair in this space, as a little reading nook under the pitched log ceilings. There was one immediate choice - the Eleanor Occasional Chair, Blush Sheepskin. We fell in love with the texture and tone one the moment we saw it in the GlobeWest showroom, and knew it needed to find a home in the Cabin. In fact we loved it so much, you may also find a couple in Nat's brand new home too!

We painted the downstairs bedroom a calming pale blue hue called Calandre by Dulux, and installed luscious two-toned linen window furnishings. The room may be small but that doesn’t mean sacrificing great design. Continuing the blue theme, we selected the Artie Open bedside table in Powder Blue, which has one large draw for guests to use. Tight on space, on the other side of the bed we opted for the Artie Clover side table. This piece is so versatile and would look perfect in any room.

The Outdoor pieces

When it came to selecting the outdoor furniture, durability was our top priority as it needs to endure the cold and wet winters of the Macedon ranges. We chose the Petra oval dining table in Ivory as it’s made from glass-enforced concrete so it will last the test of time. The Pier Breeze dining chairs in Green were the perfect pick to accompany this. Made of metal, they are easily washed down and the colour is respectful to the surrounding gardens.

On the front porch we selected two oversized Mauritius Wing Occasional Chairs to lounge in on a sunny afternoon and watch the world go by...
